Serial Mom by John Waters

Made in the mid 90's this was one of the more high profile and mainstream films to come from the mind of John Waters. It stars Kathleen Turner as the Serial Mom of the film title. Sam Waterson as her husband. Matthew Lillard as her horror movie loving son. And Ricki Lake as her boy crazy collectible selling daughter. Film starts off almost like a modern color version of Leave it to Beaver. But once her husband heads off to work and the kids are off to school the cracks in Ms Turner's facade start to show. Seems she loves to call one of the neighbor women and scream all kinds of obscenity's at her. Well after this she is off to the high school for a PTA meeting with her son's math teacher. The teacher tells her that Lillard is a deviant who is obsessed with horror movies. This pisses off Serial Mom and she catches the teacher in the parking lot and runs him over multiple times with her car. She heads off and gets the car washed before heading home to start cooking dinner for her family. The next morning the cops show up at her house to question her. Seems there was a witness who saw a blue station wagon run over the teacher. And Serial Mom is the only parent who was at school that day that has a blue station wagon. She answers the police's questions. And tries to help her daughter get over being stood up by the boy who was suppose to drive her to the flea market today. We head off to the flea market. And we see the aforementioned boy there with a super cute Traci Lords on his arm. Serial Mom sees this and follows him into the bathroom. Then runs him through with a fireplace poker. Well again there is a witness,but the cops don't believe him. Well the movie goes on with Serial Mom going after anyone that she believes is doing wrong to her family. And the family begins to suspect that their beloved matriarch is a killer. This film is a fun dark comedy that is a satire of the media circus that surrounds most high profile murder cases. The cast is all very good at their roles. And this has a decent amount of gore mixed with some very very black humor. I have enjoyed this film since the first time I saw it back when it hit VHS. Serial Mom earns a B+.

This seems to be a replacement for the Mississippi Championship Wrestling show.



We start off with random clips and a rap song playing. And I am pretty sure I see Teddy Hart. Then we go to the sponsors.



First match- Rick Santell VS The Graduate Jason James from Southern Allstar Wrestling



We start off with Jason cutting a promo,then goto Rick doing the same.We goto the ring and the match has started. It seems Santell has recently had surgery. The announcer mentions that last time he saw Santell that Katie Vick was also there. Fast match that ends when Santell catches Jason James with the Rick Kick.



2nd match- Amien Rios vs Jonathan Davis from CWA pro wrestling



Rios is out first and seems to be the heel. Davis comes out and looks a little like Jay Lethal. Davis gets a hammerlock but Rios reverses it. Davis takes Rios to the mat. Davis comes off the ropes does a cartwheel then a armdrag. Jonathan goes running and dives between the top and middle rope and nails Rios.The action goes to outside the ring and Rios hits Davis with some stiff shots. He throws Davis back in the ring and keeps working him over. Amien hits a neckbreaker and goes for the pin. But only gets a 2 count. The announcer keeps referring to Davis as a midget,comparing him to Gary Coleman. Davis goes to the top rope and does a back flip ending with his ass hitting Rios in the head. Both men are down and the ref starts the 10 count. They get up and start exchanging chops.Rios gets the pin by using the ropes. And the crowd is mega pissed.



3rd match-DKE vs The Scarboni Bros from Showtime Allstar Wrestling



This is a SAW tag team championship match. Seems that Reno Riggens is on commentary.DKE are the champs. DKE is made up of Derrick King and JT Star. We start off with King in the ring with Handsome Vinny Scarboni. They lock up and Vinny gets a headlock. He throws King off the ropes and takes King down with a shoulder block. Vinny scoopslams King and goes for a pin. But only gets a 2 count.King manages to tag JT. JT gets an atomic drop from Vinny. Vinny hits a very stiff clothesline on JT Star. The Scarboni brothers double team Derrick King. But JT hits a second rope kneedrop and gets the momentum back. JT throws Vinny outside the ring and him and DKE's valent double team him. And we goto commerical. We come back and Derrick King has Sonny Scarboni in the corner. King tags JT back in and Sonny makes a comeback. King cheap shots Sonny and starts to claw Sonny's eyes. King and Sonny knock heads in the corner and both hit the mat. Both guys manage to tag their partners. Vinny cleans house and drops the elbow on JT. He goes for the pin but Derrick King breaks up the pin. JT and King hit their finisher on Sonny Scarboni and get the pin.



4th match-Ernie Ladd vs Brickhouse Brown from NWA



This is a Vault Classic match. Starts off with Ladd in complete control. But Rufus R Brown comes out and distracts Ladd so that Brickhouse can take advantage. Ladd gets control again and wails on Brown. Brown hits 2 sweet dropkicks. And Brown goes for the pin. But of course Ladd kicks out. Ladd hits a stiff chop that drops Brickhouse to the mat.It seems that Gary Hart has made his way to ringside. Ladd keeps on working over Brickhouse. Brickhouse gets up on the top rope and hits a very nice crossbody block on Ladd. Brickhouse follows this with 2 good dropkicks. Rufus gets up on the apron and distracts Ladd. This allows Brickhouse to hit a dropkick to the back of Ernie's head. And Brickhouse gets the 3 count.



5th match Azrieal vs Human Tornado from Maryland Championship Wrestling



This is both guys debut matches in MCW.Tornado seems to be the crowd favorite. This is from the Shane Shamrock Cup 7. Which means it is from a few years ago cause IIRC Human Tornado retired at least 2 years ago. Tornado challenges Azrieal to a test of strength. But Azrieal is way to short to reach Tornado's hand. They lock up. Azrieal gets sent to the corner and Tornado hits him with a monkeyflip. Azrieal goes outside the ring to recover and Tornado hits a sweet plancha. Both guys brawl outside the ring. Till Human Tornado gets back inside the ring. Azrieal hits some chops. And then nails Tornado with a dropkick,and a stiff kick to the back of Tornado's head. Azrieal takes control,and goes for the pin. But only gets a 2 count. Tornado climbs the ropes and hits Azrieal in the chest with a dropkick. Human Tornado starts chopping Azrieal. And then hits a standing moonsault. But Azriel kicks out at 2. Human Tornado goes for a tornado DDT. But Azrieal blocks it. Azrieal goes to the top rope and hits a amazing frogsplash. But Tornado kicks out at 2. Tornado does a split and kicks Azrieal square in the nuts. This allows him to get the 3 count. Great match.



5th match-Brandy Alexander vs Malia Hosaka from World League Wrestling Joined in progress



This is a World League Wrestling Ladies Championship match.Malia works Brandy's leg. But Brandy manages to get back up. Malia hits a sunset flip and gets a 2 count. Brandy gets back up and places Malia in a Boston Crab. Hosaka reverses it and rolls up Brandy for a 2 count. Brandy hits some knife edge thrusts. But Hosaka makes a comeback. Brandy climbs to the top rope. Hosaka catches Brandy and slams her off the top rope. Followed by 2 karate kicks and a spinkick. Hosaka throws Brandy into the ropes and hits another spinkick. Hosaka goes for a big splash but Brandy gets her knees up in time to block it. Hosaka hits Brandy with a frankensteiner for the pin.



6th match-Jay Lethal vs Jerrelle Clark from NWA Wildside



OK we seems to be getting two different sets of commentators. Which makes it hard to make out what is being said. Jay runs the ropes and Clark catches him with a hiptoss.Back and forth match. With neither guy getting a major advantage. Lots of armdrags from Clark. Lethal goes outside the ring to recover. And once he gets back in he hits Clark with a backbreaker. But Clark kicks out at 2. Lethal hits a huge dropkick. And then a back suplex. Lethal goes up to the top rope and hits a very Benoit like flying headbutt. Clark recovers and hits Lethal with a pumphandle slam. Lethal gets out at the 2 count and nails Jerrelle with a dragon suplex. And gets the 3 count.



And that is the end of the show. Was really good. 6 matches with really only the woman's match being kinda crappy. Now I enjoyed Mississippi Championship Wrestling,but this show is 5 times better. Hopefully it will actually air every week and last a long time.

This was the first novel I read from Mr Ketchum. I had heard about Jack Ketchum for a few years. And got lucky and found a copy of this novel at the local used bookstore. Ray Pie and a two friends are out in the woods drinking beer and getting high. But Ray is a disturbed young man,he is a total sociopath. He sees two girls that he assumes are lesbians. So He takes his rifle and shoots and kills them.We fast forward a few years. And Ray is still up to his criminal ways. He works and lives at the motel his mother owns. And he seems to get every girl he wants. But the new maid at the motel wants nothing to do with him and this drives Ray crazy. He gets over this,or so we assume,and starts dating a new girl in town. And one night in he tells the new girl about him killing the two girls in the woods. This causes her to want nothing to do with Ray. That pushes Ray over the edge and he goes on a rampage.
This is a great novel that really shows why Ketchum gets so much praise. He gets us into the mind of Ray Pie. And the ending is a orgy of violence that tops most other well known horror authors.

Edward Lee is one sick twisted bastard. And this novel is the best thing I have read from him so far. Set in a small southern town,and soon to be canceled Food Network star is in search of the perfect microbrewed beer.He comes to find out that this town is flooded with ghost. Filled with Lee's normal violence,sex and gore,this is actually a edited version of a small press printing.

This was the third book from Mr Keene that I have read. And the first two had really bad endings. The setting is a Survivor like reality game show. A group of people are on a tropical island and are being videotaped. But a massive storm is on the way. When the storm hits the group is attacked by some beasts,that very much resemble the beasts from Richard Laymon's Beast house series. Fun fast paced book that is perfect for when you want a quick entertaining read. And this time Keene has a great ending.

MCW is back with a new episode this week. And it is an hour long. We start off with letterboxed footage set to "It's my life" by Bon Jovi. Weird choice of music but whatever.

Match 1 Tatt2 vs Rondale Roosevelt Clipped
Seems the footage is of Tatt2 vs Rondale Roosevelt. IIRC Roosevelt is part of Bruise Brothers 2k.  Tatt2 seems to be a high flyer. Roosevelt hits a nice split legged moonsault,but only gets a 2 count. The match seems to be clipped. And keeps jumping ahead. Tatt2 catches Roosevelt with a stiff kick to the head. And goes for the pin. Roosevelt kicks out at 2. Roosevelt goes up to the top rope. Looks like he was trying to hit a senton. Tatt2 rolls outta the way. And with both guys flat on the mat the ref starts the 10 count. Tatt2 gets up and throws Roosevelt to the ropes and hits some crisp moves.  Tatt2 then hits a rolling thunder then a Asai moonsault. But Roosevelt kicks out at 2. Tatt2 hits a 619,or since this is Mississippi it might be a 601. And again Roosevelt kicks out at 2. Roosevelt hits a modified samon drop. The crowd seems to be behind Tatt2. Tatt2 goes for a second 601/619 but this time Roosevelt moves outta the way. Then he rolls up Tatt2. 1,2,3 Roosevelt gets the pin.

We then cut to a promo from The VIP Cassidy Riley. Riley is the Mid South Heavyweight Champion. Then we cut to Jerry Clower in the ring with JYD and Hacksaw Duggan. This is old footage from Mid South. Clower is wearing a bright red wide lapel jacket.

Match 2

Malek Avalon w/Travion vs Tiger MAsk???

We start off with who I assume is Malek and Travion in the ring. And Malek is parading around with a belt. It looks like the belt says XPW on the front. Weird. Ok I have no idea who this Tiger MAsk is. Malek takes Tiger down with a shoulder tackle. But Tiger gets right back up. Tiger throws Malek to the ropes and does a nice armdrag. Crap this match is clipped. They go outside the ring and Malek gets thrown into the crowd. Tiger throws Malek into the guardrail and I see a shopping cart full of stuff. Wonder if this is a hardcore match?  Cut again and now they are back in the ring. Tiger throws Malek to the corner and hits him with a stiff clothesline. He repeats this again . And then tries it a third time,but Malek ducks. Cut and now Malek has Tiger in the corner and is hitting him with kicks and boots. Tiger rolls outta the ring,and Malek's manager comes over and puts the boots to him. Malek rolls out and throws Tiger into the guardrail. The crowd is kinda small but very very vocal. Malek rolls Tiger back into the ring and goes for a pin. Cut and Tiger is running off the ropes when Malek catches him with a nice dropkick. Malek goes for the pin. Cut and now they are both in the corner.Tiger charges into the corner but Malek smacks him with a big elbow. Tiger recovers and does a great looking double underhook suplex. He pins Malek. But Malek kicks out. Cut and Malek hits a jawbreaker. Cut and Tiger knocks Malek off his feet with a clothesline then hits a belly to belly suplex. Tiger goes for the pin but only gets a 2 count. Cut and Malek is in the corner. Tiger runs the ropes,and Malek catches him with a superkick. Malek climbs to the top rope. He seems to be going for a crossbody block,but Tiger dodges it. Tiger hits a crisp german suplex,rolls and hits another. He rolls again and is trying for a third but Malek gets outta the hold. Tiger gets thrown into the ropes,and Malek's manager rips Tiger MAsk's mask off.  Malek then rolls Tiger MAsk up for the pin.


Match 3 Ron Horn vs Wade Garrett
We goto some black and white footage.  Quickly it goes back to color and Garrett is beating the crap outta Horn. Cut and we see Horn throwing Garrett into some lockers. Ok this seems to be a hardcore match. We get lots of quick clips of both guys using tables,ladders and chairs. It seems that Garrett wins. I wish they had shown this entire match. Mainly cause Horn always is entertaining to watch. The guy has natural charisma and knows how to work the crowd.

We goto another promo from Cassidey Riley and they are advertising a show in Yazoo City.

Match 4 Monty Warbucks Vs Joe Kane

They tie up and Warbucks gets a side headlock. I am assuming that Kane is a face. The two guys tie up again and Warbucks gets another side headlock. He throws Kane into the ropes and takes him down with a shoulder tackle. Weird the crowd seems to be behind Warbucks,so I guess he is a face. IIRC last time Warbucks was on MCW he was a heel. Warbucks and Kane circle the ring. And Kane throws Monty into the ropes. But Monty knocks Joe to the mat and drops an elbow on him. Joe exits the ring,and Warbucks jawjacks with the crowd for awhile.Kane comes back into the ring,and Warbucks nails him with some quick punches. Kane hits Monty with a huge punch and Monty goes down. He gets up and throws Kane into the corner. Monty goes for a big splash but Kane gets outta the way. Monty ends up an a halfass tree of woe. So Kane does a running dropkick and Monty falls to the floor. Kane follows him to the floor and works on Monty's arm. Kane and Monty get back into the ring. And Kane twist Monty's right arm. Strange I was told that wrestlers always work on the left side. Maybe Joe Kane was trained in the Lucha Libre style,in which they work on the right side.  Now Kane is working on Monty's left arm. But Warbucks catches Kane off guard with a hard punch. Warbucks is thrown to the ropes and Kane hits a flying clothesline. Warbucks hits a nice spinebuster. Then a suplex. Monty goes for an elbow drop,but Joe Kane rolls outta the way. Kane catches Monty with a modified side Russian legsweep and gets the pin.


Match 5 Iceman King Parsens vs Brickhouse Brown
Now we cut to Ron Tronguard??? Wait this is AWA footage from ESPN Classic. Strange. Ok now we have graphics at the bottom of the screen telling us this is "Classic Wrestling from AWA/MCW" Ice Man King Parsens Vs Brickhouse Brown.  Seems this match is from Superclash III. Parsens is the Texas Heavyweight Champion. Iceman is wearing a sweet reflective blue top hat. Crap Vern Gagne is on the mic,and as usual he sucks. Brown shoves Iceman to the mat. And they lock up. Brown gets thrown to the ropes but hits Iceman with a very very sweet dropkick. It is almost as good as Bob Holly's dropkicks. Brickhouse gets Parsens in a side headlock.  Brickhouse runs the ropes and hits Parsens with two solid shoulder tackles. Brown goes for a backslide but Iceman gets out. Iceman throws Brown to the ropes and catches him with a good kneelift. Then Parsens takes Brown down with a short clothesline. And then hits a snap suplex. Parsens goes for the pin,But Brown kicks out at 2. Parsens then hits Brown with 3 punches and Brown hits the mat. Parsens goes for a piledriver. Brown reverses it into a back body drop.  Iceman rolls to the corner and begs for mercy. But Brown ignores this and throws Iceman to the ropes. Brown hits a flying bodypress. Iceman pulls some brass knucks outta his tights and hits Brown with them. 1,2,3 Iceman King Parsens wins.

We cut to Jimmy Hart in some studio talking about the new Fabulous ones. It seems one of them is Porkchop Cash. We get various footage of them posing and walking around in red velvet tuxes. While "You dropped a bomb" is playing. A graphic at the bottom of the screen informs me that this is "The Bruise Brothers .... The Beginning part 1". Neat stuff to see,but I would have rather they didn't show this and instead we had gotten the entire Ron Horn match. Now we cut to some tall guy wearing a shirt with the Punisher skull on it. Some rap song is playing in the background. I have no idea what the song is,but then I also haven't kept up with rap since about 1994. Ok this seems to be clips from various matches. And the guy in the Punisher shirt is Kevin Northcutt I think. Kevin seems to be a decent wrestler and very agile for being such a tall guy. Neat he is attacking some people with a flaming chair. We also see Kevin hit a few superkicks. Strangely some of the footage is full screen and some of it is letterboxed. I wonder if any wrestler out there has ever used "the Ramones-The Crusher" for their entrance music?  We now goto some fat guy in the ring ,and who I think is Kevin Northcutt. This seems to be more clips from a match,but this time we get the actual audio. Again this is fun,but I rather they had cut this out and given us the complete Tiger Mask and Ron Horn matches. And the show is over. Pretty good show. I just wish they would show entire matches instead of clipped matches.

After a week off MCW is back. Again the show is only 30 minutes. We start off with new opening credits that has the words "Mississippi Championship Wrestling scrolling across the screen while various pictures of wrestlers are in the background.

1st match

Barry "MR 500" Wolf  VS Rick Morgan

Morgan starts off by working Wolf's arm,but Wolf reverses it. Morgan hits a sweet dropkick,which is almost as good as Bob Holly's dropkick. The announcer keeps referring to Morgan as a redneck. Wolf hits a sweet clothesline that causes Morgan to do a complete flip. Wolf catches Morgan with a leg submission. But Morgan kicks Wolf in the head to escape. Wolf drops Morgan to the mat and goes for another leg submission.  Wolf keeps working the leg.Morgan gets up and hits Wolf with a leg lariat. Wolf takes out Morgan's leg and goes back to working the leg. Wolf puts on a reverse Indian deathlock. Morgan breaks it,and Barry whips Morgan into the corner. Then hits a clothesline. Morgan runs the ropes and hits Wolf with a crossbody block. 1 2 3 Morgan gets the pin.

Now we have a interview with Monty Warbucks and the Wild Childs of the city. Warbucks talks about how all the audience has no teeth. Jason Rose gets on the mic and talks about how they have a problem with one man Calvin Rose. Now we cut to an interview with Mike Carter. Carter cuts an interview very much in the style of his "father" JYD.

2nd match

The Bull God Minator VS Neil Goldbrick

Minator comes out and we get his name,height and weight on the screen. The announcer talks about how Minator has won many regional titles all over the south.  Goldbrick seems scared to lock up with Minator. Neil goes for an armbar but Minator seems to not feel it. Minator hits a big boot to the face of Neil. Minator hits Goldbrick with a big bodyslam. Then hits a huge legdrop.Minator catches Goldbrick with suplex. Minator picks up Goldbrick and hits a sweet looking short arm clothesline. Minator throws Neil into the ropes and hits a huge sidewalk slam. He goes for a pin,but picks Goldbrick up at the 2 count. Goldbrick hits a jawbreaker. Minator hits a slam and drags Neil to the corner and hits a second rope bodypress. 1 2 3 Minator wins.

We cut to the Bruise Brothers 2k  in the back with Porkchop Cash. Brother Love talks about how Mike Carter has a yellow streak down his back. Porkchop gets on the mic and talks about how the whole state of Mississippi is his house. Then mentions how Carter refused to shake Cash's hand. Sadly it is kinda hard to hear what all is said cause we have "Soul Man" playing and the volume on the song is higher than the volume on the mic.

Jason Rose vs Calvin Rose

Rose has Calvin on the mat. Rose drops a big knee to the head of Calvin. Jason gets Calvin in a rear chinlock and Calvin gets the crowd to start clapping. Calvin gets to his feet hits a few elbows and throws Rose into the corner. Rose climbs up to the second rope and hits Calvin with swinging neckbreaker. Rose goes for the pin. But Calvin Rose kicks out. Jason complains to the ref about it being a slow count. Then Jason goes to the second rope. He goes for a legdrop but Calvin rolls outta the way. Calvin gets up and throws Rose to the ropes. Hits a big boot and a clothesline. Then Calvin slams Jason hard to the mat. Jason reaches into his tights and gets out some powder. He throws it but it hits the ref in the eyes. Jason Rose climbs to the top rope and connects with a top rope sunset flip. Calvin reverses it and gets the 3 count.

We goto the back and Mike Carter is talking about how Mccullar Enterprise has the best deals on WWE,TNA,NWA and MCW merchandise. Sadly again the music playing in the background is louder than the mic volume so it is hard to make out what people are saying.

4th match

Ron Horn vs Ben Smith

Oh it seems Ben Smith is one of the guys from Capitol City Muscle.  The guys lock up. And we cut to a video package of Wild Childs of the City matches with "Do you think I'm Sexy" playing.  WTF Why bother showing less than 2 minutes of a match?  Then we cut to footage of the Bruise Brothers 2k while "Soul Man" plays. I much would have rather seen the Horn vs Smith match.  And the show ends.

Glad to see the show is back and we got 3 good matches. But they need to turn the music volume down during the backstage interviews. Plus I am still perplexed by why they showed us at most 2 minutes of the Horn VS Smith match then had close to 5 minutes of video packages. But the show has been improving each episode.

Mississippi Championship Wrestling TV show 02/19/2011

This episode of MCW for some reason is only 30 minutes long.But the promoter has told me starting next week they will go back to the normal hour long show. I assume this is the episode that was supposed to air over 2 weeks ago.

We start off with a nice video package to "Land of Confusion". Then We see a match in which the Wild Childs of the city attack Calvin Rose. I am betting this is pay back for Calvin beating Monty Warbucks on the last episode. Warbucks beats Calvin with a belt then starts choking him in the corner with said belt. OK they are using some weird video effect on it that causes the picture to kinda warp back and forth from the left to the right. The beat down continues Hard to tell if the crowd is into it,cause again we are hearing "Land of Confusion".

We cut to a commercial advertising an upcoming card. And another telling us who to call to get MCW merch.  We come back and it is Whiskey Hangover vs Capitol City Muscle. In what we are told is a best of 7 series. The winners of the series will get $7000. Match starts off with CCM double teaming Whiskey Hangover. But Ron Horn gets the upper hand and proceeds to beat down on the smaller member of CCM. Ron tags in Barry Wolf. Wolf hits a stiff clothesline and starts to choke the CCM guy while he is on the mat. Wolf tags in Horn. Horn takes his opponent to the corner and chops the shit outta him. Horn catches him with a DDT and goes for the pin. But CCM guy kicks out. Horn knocks him to the mat again and stomps on him. Then picks him up and throws him to the ropes. CCM guy hits what I think is a Thez press and makes it to the corner for the hot tag. But Horn also manages to tag in Wolf. Wolf gets slammed by the bigger member of CCM. While the smaller guy and Horn fight outside the ring. Wolf ends up getting the pin by holding onto to the tights of the bigger member of CCM.

We come back from commercial and Jason Rose vs Raging Rick Morgan. Rose looks a lot like Doug Sommers. Rose gets on the mic and says he will give Morgan one chance to get outta the ring and save him the embarrassment of getting beat. Playboy Rose taunts Morgan by jiggling his bitch tits. Morgan knocks Rose down and goes for a pin. But Jason Rose kicks out at 2,and then rolls outta the ring. Morgan gets tired of waiting and goes outside the ring to bring the fight to Rose. Rose gets back in the ring and hits Morgan with a  cheap shot as he is coming back in. Jason sends Rick to the ropes,but Rick hits a shoulder tackle and knocks Rose to the mat. Rick then gets a nice looking suplex on Rose. Rose makes a comeback and knocks Rick to the mat. Morgan tried for a roll up after Rose misses with a shoulder tackle to the corner. Morgan runs to the ropes but is tripped by Monty Warbucks. This allows Jason Rose to hit a rolling Samoan drop. Then the 21st Century Playboy goes to the top rope. And hits a great leg drop. 1,2,3, Jason Rose gets the win. Rose and Warbucks celebrate at ringside while "Do you think I'm Sexy" plays.

We come back from a break and it is The Bruise Brothers 2k vs Mike Carter and Anton Leveigh. Carter isn't wearing the dog chain this week. The Bruise brothers go outside the ring and heckle the crowd for awhile. Sweet Porkchop Cash is at ringside. Porkchop Cash has to be the best name in wrestling ever. Brother Love starts the match in the ring with Anton. Leveigh works the arm then tags in Mike Carter. Carter keeps working the arm,but Brother Love rolls outta the ring. Brother Love tags in his partner,Roosevelt. Then Mike Carter tags in Leveigh. Leveigh hits a few high impact spots and Roosevelt rolls out. Brother Love hits the ring and gets double teamed by Leveigh and Carter. Porkchop Cash gives his guys some advice. And Roosevelt  gets back in the ring. Seems he wants to shake hands with Anton. The crowd keeps on telling Leveigh not to do it. But instead of shaking hands Leveigh hits Roosevelt with a big slap. Roosevelt hits Anton in the back with a loud ass kick. Then he throws Anton out the ring and goes over and taunts Mike Carter. While outside the ring Brother Love slams Anton onto the hard concrete floor.Roosevelt rolls out the ring beats on Anton for awhile. But Anton gets up jumps to the ring apron and hits a hurricanrana on Roosevelt.Leveigh hits 3 stiff punches,before Roosevelt throws him back into the ring. Roosevelt goes for the pin ,but the ref sees that his feet are on the ropes. So Roosevelt tags in Brother Love he hits Anton with a series of elbows,then a running knee lift.Love lays Anton across the bottom rope. And while the ref is distracted Porkchop Cash chokes Leveigh with the bottom rope. Love hits Anton with 3 leg drops. Then hits the ropes does a little dance and hits a elbow drop on Anton. Roosevelt is tagged in and he does a great looking hanging vertical suplex. And we cut to commercial. We come back and Roosevelt has dragged Leveigh to his teams corner. Roosevelt hits a nice looking split legged moonsault. He goes for a pin but Leveigh reverses it. Leveigh comes off the ropes and hits a huge clothesline on Roosevelt. Leveigh hits a Pele kick. And now Leveigh and Roosevelt are flat on the mat. The ref starts a 10 count. Leveigh gets up and tags in Carter. Carter cleans house and  hits Brother Love with 2 huge headbutts. Leveigh rolls Love outta the ring . While Carter stays int he ring . Carter hits Roosevelt with a powerbomb into the turnbuckle. Carter then picks up Roosevelt and hits a running powerslam. But he only gets a 2 count. Brother Love grabs the briefcase and hits Carter with it for a DQ. And the show ends with a bunch of pictures while "Land of Confusion" plays.

This show while only being 30 minutes is a major improvement over the first episode. None of the matches seemed to be clipped. And the sound was a lot better. Can't wait to see more of the Whiskey Hangover/Capitol City Muscle best of 7 series. And what seems to be a big feud between The Bruise Brothers 2k and Anton Leveigh and Mike Carter. Plus it is always great to see Porkchop Cash.

Why there wasn't a review of MCW this past weekend.

The second episode of the weekly MCW show did not air this Saturday. Instead Fox 40 aired an hour of infomericials. I contacted teh MCW promoter and was told that something was wrong with the dvd they sent to Fox 40. And that the dvd wouldn't play. A new episode should be airing this Saturday morning at 6am central on Fox 40.

This is the premiere episode of the MCW TV show. Airing at 6am till 7am on FOX 40 outta Jackson MS. Show starts off Kenny Marcell in the ring welcoming us to MCW. Show is held at the Jackson arena,and they run the address across the screen. Seems we are gonna get a interview with the Bruise Brothers. But first we are gonna get an interview with the Wild Childs of the City. Kenny ask them to come to the ring. "Do you think I'm Sexy" hits the speakers and 3 guys head to the ring. One of them is Monty Warbucks. Monty gets on the mic and complains that the music wasn't cut off when they hit the ring. It seems that Monty is the mouthpiece/manager and the team is made up of the 21st century Playboy Jason Rose and The Golden Boy Brian Rival. Rose looks a little like AWA era Doug Sommers. Monty cuts a good promo Calvin Rose. And how on his ride up from Louisiana ,that once he hit Mississippi he noticed all the bad smells. Jason Rose gets the mic. He talks about how all the people in TV land should be happy that 3 of the best professional athletes are standing right before you. Then Brian Rival gets the mic and ask the audience to clap for Monty. Then calls the audience idiots for clapping on command. Monty gets the mic back and keeps cutting down Calvin Rose. And mentions that a few weeks back he piledrove Calvin on the floor. And mentions how he knows that Calvin's neck is hurt. "I wanna hear it loud" is on the speakers. And Calvin Rose comes to the ring with a chair. Kenny stops Calvin from attacking the Wild Childs. And Kenny says we are gonna get a match between Calvin Rose and Monty Warbucks later on in the show. And it will be the main event. We go to a commercial break and a James Brown song leads us outta the show.

First match Brother love vs Anton Leveigh

Brother Love comes out to "Soul Man" and he has PorkChop Cash with him. Brother Love is dressed like one of the Blues Brothers and is carrying a briefcase. Porkchop has this huge white beard. Anton Leveigh comes out looking about the same as when I saw him last year. The camera cuts to the start of the match. The two guys circle each other then lock up. Anton sends Brother Love to the ropes,and on his way back Love hits a good shoulder tackle. Love gets Anton in a side headlock. But Leveigh breaks it and sends Love to the ropes again. Love hits another big shoulder tackle. They lock up again,and for a third time Leveigh sends Love to the ropes. Then Anton leapfrogs Love,then does a drop down. And finally hits a jumping spin kick. Which drops Love to the mat. Anton hits 2 arm drags and a nice looking dropkick. And Brother Love rolls outta the ring. The crowd taunts Love and he yells for them to shut there mouth. Love rocks Anton with punches then throws him to the ropes. And Porkchop trips Leveigh. Love takes advantage of this and rakes Anton's eyes across the ropes. Then hits a stiff clothesline. Love goes for the pin but Leveigh kicks out a two. Love scoop slams Anton. Criss crosses the ring then hits a legdrop and a kneedrop. Again Anton kicks out a two. So Love starts to choke Anton. The ref makes him break on the 5 count. Love starts to argue with the ref. Love then hits a good suplex on Anton. And again he goes for the pin. But Anton kicks out at two again. Love body slams Anton and goes to the corner. He climbs up to the second rope. And goes for a leg drop. But Leveigh rolls outta the way. Both men are laying on the mat and the ref starts a 10 count. They get up and trade punches. Love throws Anton into the corner and lifts him up to the second rope. Loves goes for a second rope superplex. But Anton shoves him off. Anton then does a second rope frog splash. The ref and Anton are distracted by Porkchop. And Porkchop slides the briefcase into Love. Who hits Anton with it. And finally Love gets the three count. We go to commerical while Love dances around the ring to "Soul Man". Fun match.

Match 2

Whiskey Hangover vs Capitol City Muscle

On the screen they inform us this will be video highlights. Whiskey Hangover are Ron Horn and Barry "Mr 500" Wolf. Damn I wish this was the entire match. I have seen Horn and Wolf face each other 5 times now,but have never seen them as a tag team. For some reason there is no sound . One of the CCM guys slams Wolf. Then it cuts to Horn and Wolf double teaming one of the CCM guys. And "Let the bodies hit the floor" starts playing. We get to see Whiskey Hangover beating the crap outta one of the guys from CCM. The CCM guy hits a shoulder tackle and manages to tag in his partner. Who comes in the ring and beats up both members of Whiskey Hangover. One of the CCM guys picks up Barry Wolf. While the other jumps off the top rope and hit a solid looking clothesline. And CCM gets the win. I really wish they had shown the entire match. And we get another commerical break.

We come back and Porkchop Cash and Brother Love are headed to the ring. Brother Love gets the mic. Brother Love talks about how they are the 2000 version of the Bruise Brothers. He starts cutting a promo on the son of Junkyard Dog,Mike Carter. Which causes the crowd to start booing. I didn't know that JYD had a son. Love talks about how they offered Mike a handshake and the Carter spit on Porkchop Cash's hand. Cash talks about how if Mike Carter had shook his hand he wouldn't have too beat him up. Then Cash talks about how the Bruise Brothers will take over Mississippi. Not a bad promo

Match 3

Wild Childs of the City VS Rick Morgan & Jason Mathews

Wild Childs are out first. But it seems they don't have Monty with them this time. Jason Rose grabs the mic. He ask if Jackson MS is ready for him to take his robe off and show them what the sexiest man alive looks like. Well I guess bitch tits are sexy. Morgan and Mathews come out. The crowd seems to be behind Morgan and Mathews. Morgan starts the match with Rival.Nice back and forth. Morgan tags out to Mathews. Jason hits a clothesline on Rival. But Rival gets the upper hand and tags in Rose. Mathews and Morgan do a double hip toss on Rose. But when Morgan runs at Rose,Rose pulls down the rope. Morgan goes flying to the outside. Rival goes and starts beating up Morgan. Then he finally throws Rick back into the ring. Rose tags out to Brian and the Wild Childs do a double Garvin stomp. Then Brian Rival hits 2 snap suplexs in a row. Rival then tags in Rose who does a double foot stomp on Morgan. Rose goes for the pin but Rick kicks out. Jason Rose applies a headlock. Rick throws some elbows to break the hold. Rose hits a Atomic drop followed by a swinging neck breaker. Then he tags Rival back in. Rick hits a flying elbow and tries to tag in his partner. But Rival cuts the ring off on Rick. Time for a commerical break. Well maybe not. Rose tags in and hits a rolling Samoan drop on Rick.Then Rose climbs to the top rope. goes for a leg drop but Rick rolls outta the way.Rick makes the hot tag at the same time as Rose tags in Rival. Jason Mathews hits a series of clotheslines. Both Mathews and Morgan take their guys to the corners and do the standard 10 punches. We end up with Mathews rolling up Rival . But the ref is distracted. Rose comes in and hits Mathews . Rival rolls up Mathews for the win.

Match 4

Joey Ables vs JYD's son Mike Carter. Ables is out first and is wearing a CMPunkish hoodie. Carter comes out barking to "Another one bites the dust". The crowd goes wild. Nice Carter is wearing a dog chain around his neck. They lock up and Able gets a headlock. Carter powers out but eats a shoulder tackle. Then Carter nails Able with a arm drag and a great looking dropkick. Ables rolls to the outside to recover. Mike gets a headlock. But Joey throws him to the ropes. Mike comes back and hits a hard looking shoulder tackle. Then we cut to later in the match. Able hits a belly to back suplex. And both guys are on the mat. The ref starts the 10 count and we get another cut. Carter hits a bulldog. But while both guys are on the mat,Porkchop and the Bruise Brothers come out. They hit Carter with the briefcase. And the ref ends the match. The Bruise brothers keep beating up Mike. But Anton Leveigh comes out and does his best to stop them. But he gets hit with the briefcase. And we go to commerical as Porkchop and the Bruise Brothers are beating up Mike Carter.

Match 5

Monty Warbucks vs Calvin Rose. Monty comes out to "Do you think I'm sexy" and on his way out he jaw jacks with the fans. Who boo the crap outta him. Cut and Calvin Rose is on his way out. He hits the ring and Warbucks rolls out. Rose chases Warbucks around the ring. And Warbucks caught Rose as he comes back into the ring. But Rose gets the upper hand and Warbucks rolls out again. Warbucks gets back in and gets a headlock on Calvin. Calvin throws Monty to the ropes. And Calvin hits a shoulder block,but Monty no sells it. We go to commerical as Calvin has Monty on the mat and is hitting him with punches. We come back to Calvin hitting a elbow on Monty. This gets a two count. Monty pokes Calvin in the eyes. Then he throws Calvin into the ropes. Monty hits a clothesline and starts to unwrap his wrist tape. He uses the tape to choke Calvin. But the ref catches him. Cut and Calvin throws Monty to the ropes and hits another good elbow. Monty throws a few punches but Calvin blocks them and hits a few right hands. Then the Wild Childs try to interfere. But Calvin stops them. Calvin catches Monty with a big boot to the face and gets the pin. The show ends with the Wild childs of the city in the ring all upset cause Monty Warbucks lost. And we get a nice collection of pics of the various wrestlers while Genesis's "Land of Confusion" plays.

Overall not a bad show for the first show. There was a few sound problems and sometimes the video showed some breakup. But it was a fun introduction to the MCW product.
