Mississippi Championship Wrestling 03/05/2011

After a week off MCW is back. Again the show is only 30 minutes. We start off with new opening credits that has the words "Mississippi Championship Wrestling scrolling across the screen while various pictures of wrestlers are in the background.

1st match

Barry "MR 500" Wolf  VS Rick Morgan

Morgan starts off by working Wolf's arm,but Wolf reverses it. Morgan hits a sweet dropkick,which is almost as good as Bob Holly's dropkick. The announcer keeps referring to Morgan as a redneck. Wolf hits a sweet clothesline that causes Morgan to do a complete flip. Wolf catches Morgan with a leg submission. But Morgan kicks Wolf in the head to escape. Wolf drops Morgan to the mat and goes for another leg submission.  Wolf keeps working the leg.Morgan gets up and hits Wolf with a leg lariat. Wolf takes out Morgan's leg and goes back to working the leg. Wolf puts on a reverse Indian deathlock. Morgan breaks it,and Barry whips Morgan into the corner. Then hits a clothesline. Morgan runs the ropes and hits Wolf with a crossbody block. 1 2 3 Morgan gets the pin.

Now we have a interview with Monty Warbucks and the Wild Childs of the city. Warbucks talks about how all the audience has no teeth. Jason Rose gets on the mic and talks about how they have a problem with one man Calvin Rose. Now we cut to an interview with Mike Carter. Carter cuts an interview very much in the style of his "father" JYD.

2nd match

The Bull God Minator VS Neil Goldbrick

Minator comes out and we get his name,height and weight on the screen. The announcer talks about how Minator has won many regional titles all over the south.  Goldbrick seems scared to lock up with Minator. Neil goes for an armbar but Minator seems to not feel it. Minator hits a big boot to the face of Neil. Minator hits Goldbrick with a big bodyslam. Then hits a huge legdrop.Minator catches Goldbrick with suplex. Minator picks up Goldbrick and hits a sweet looking short arm clothesline. Minator throws Neil into the ropes and hits a huge sidewalk slam. He goes for a pin,but picks Goldbrick up at the 2 count. Goldbrick hits a jawbreaker. Minator hits a slam and drags Neil to the corner and hits a second rope bodypress. 1 2 3 Minator wins.

We cut to the Bruise Brothers 2k  in the back with Porkchop Cash. Brother Love talks about how Mike Carter has a yellow streak down his back. Porkchop gets on the mic and talks about how the whole state of Mississippi is his house. Then mentions how Carter refused to shake Cash's hand. Sadly it is kinda hard to hear what all is said cause we have "Soul Man" playing and the volume on the song is higher than the volume on the mic.

Jason Rose vs Calvin Rose

Rose has Calvin on the mat. Rose drops a big knee to the head of Calvin. Jason gets Calvin in a rear chinlock and Calvin gets the crowd to start clapping. Calvin gets to his feet hits a few elbows and throws Rose into the corner. Rose climbs up to the second rope and hits Calvin with swinging neckbreaker. Rose goes for the pin. But Calvin Rose kicks out. Jason complains to the ref about it being a slow count. Then Jason goes to the second rope. He goes for a legdrop but Calvin rolls outta the way. Calvin gets up and throws Rose to the ropes. Hits a big boot and a clothesline. Then Calvin slams Jason hard to the mat. Jason reaches into his tights and gets out some powder. He throws it but it hits the ref in the eyes. Jason Rose climbs to the top rope and connects with a top rope sunset flip. Calvin reverses it and gets the 3 count.

We goto the back and Mike Carter is talking about how Mccullar Enterprise has the best deals on WWE,TNA,NWA and MCW merchandise. Sadly again the music playing in the background is louder than the mic volume so it is hard to make out what people are saying.

4th match

Ron Horn vs Ben Smith

Oh it seems Ben Smith is one of the guys from Capitol City Muscle.  The guys lock up. And we cut to a video package of Wild Childs of the City matches with "Do you think I'm Sexy" playing.  WTF Why bother showing less than 2 minutes of a match?  Then we cut to footage of the Bruise Brothers 2k while "Soul Man" plays. I much would have rather seen the Horn vs Smith match.  And the show ends.

Glad to see the show is back and we got 3 good matches. But they need to turn the music volume down during the backstage interviews. Plus I am still perplexed by why they showed us at most 2 minutes of the Horn VS Smith match then had close to 5 minutes of video packages. But the show has been improving each episode.

Mississippi Championship Wrestling TV show 02/19/2011

This episode of MCW for some reason is only 30 minutes long.But the promoter has told me starting next week they will go back to the normal hour long show. I assume this is the episode that was supposed to air over 2 weeks ago.

We start off with a nice video package to "Land of Confusion". Then We see a match in which the Wild Childs of the city attack Calvin Rose. I am betting this is pay back for Calvin beating Monty Warbucks on the last episode. Warbucks beats Calvin with a belt then starts choking him in the corner with said belt. OK they are using some weird video effect on it that causes the picture to kinda warp back and forth from the left to the right. The beat down continues Hard to tell if the crowd is into it,cause again we are hearing "Land of Confusion".

We cut to a commercial advertising an upcoming card. And another telling us who to call to get MCW merch.  We come back and it is Whiskey Hangover vs Capitol City Muscle. In what we are told is a best of 7 series. The winners of the series will get $7000. Match starts off with CCM double teaming Whiskey Hangover. But Ron Horn gets the upper hand and proceeds to beat down on the smaller member of CCM. Ron tags in Barry Wolf. Wolf hits a stiff clothesline and starts to choke the CCM guy while he is on the mat. Wolf tags in Horn. Horn takes his opponent to the corner and chops the shit outta him. Horn catches him with a DDT and goes for the pin. But CCM guy kicks out. Horn knocks him to the mat again and stomps on him. Then picks him up and throws him to the ropes. CCM guy hits what I think is a Thez press and makes it to the corner for the hot tag. But Horn also manages to tag in Wolf. Wolf gets slammed by the bigger member of CCM. While the smaller guy and Horn fight outside the ring. Wolf ends up getting the pin by holding onto to the tights of the bigger member of CCM.

We come back from commercial and Jason Rose vs Raging Rick Morgan. Rose looks a lot like Doug Sommers. Rose gets on the mic and says he will give Morgan one chance to get outta the ring and save him the embarrassment of getting beat. Playboy Rose taunts Morgan by jiggling his bitch tits. Morgan knocks Rose down and goes for a pin. But Jason Rose kicks out at 2,and then rolls outta the ring. Morgan gets tired of waiting and goes outside the ring to bring the fight to Rose. Rose gets back in the ring and hits Morgan with a  cheap shot as he is coming back in. Jason sends Rick to the ropes,but Rick hits a shoulder tackle and knocks Rose to the mat. Rick then gets a nice looking suplex on Rose. Rose makes a comeback and knocks Rick to the mat. Morgan tried for a roll up after Rose misses with a shoulder tackle to the corner. Morgan runs to the ropes but is tripped by Monty Warbucks. This allows Jason Rose to hit a rolling Samoan drop. Then the 21st Century Playboy goes to the top rope. And hits a great leg drop. 1,2,3, Jason Rose gets the win. Rose and Warbucks celebrate at ringside while "Do you think I'm Sexy" plays.

We come back from a break and it is The Bruise Brothers 2k vs Mike Carter and Anton Leveigh. Carter isn't wearing the dog chain this week. The Bruise brothers go outside the ring and heckle the crowd for awhile. Sweet Porkchop Cash is at ringside. Porkchop Cash has to be the best name in wrestling ever. Brother Love starts the match in the ring with Anton. Leveigh works the arm then tags in Mike Carter. Carter keeps working the arm,but Brother Love rolls outta the ring. Brother Love tags in his partner,Roosevelt. Then Mike Carter tags in Leveigh. Leveigh hits a few high impact spots and Roosevelt rolls out. Brother Love hits the ring and gets double teamed by Leveigh and Carter. Porkchop Cash gives his guys some advice. And Roosevelt  gets back in the ring. Seems he wants to shake hands with Anton. The crowd keeps on telling Leveigh not to do it. But instead of shaking hands Leveigh hits Roosevelt with a big slap. Roosevelt hits Anton in the back with a loud ass kick. Then he throws Anton out the ring and goes over and taunts Mike Carter. While outside the ring Brother Love slams Anton onto the hard concrete floor.Roosevelt rolls out the ring beats on Anton for awhile. But Anton gets up jumps to the ring apron and hits a hurricanrana on Roosevelt.Leveigh hits 3 stiff punches,before Roosevelt throws him back into the ring. Roosevelt goes for the pin ,but the ref sees that his feet are on the ropes. So Roosevelt tags in Brother Love he hits Anton with a series of elbows,then a running knee lift.Love lays Anton across the bottom rope. And while the ref is distracted Porkchop Cash chokes Leveigh with the bottom rope. Love hits Anton with 3 leg drops. Then hits the ropes does a little dance and hits a elbow drop on Anton. Roosevelt is tagged in and he does a great looking hanging vertical suplex. And we cut to commercial. We come back and Roosevelt has dragged Leveigh to his teams corner. Roosevelt hits a nice looking split legged moonsault. He goes for a pin but Leveigh reverses it. Leveigh comes off the ropes and hits a huge clothesline on Roosevelt. Leveigh hits a Pele kick. And now Leveigh and Roosevelt are flat on the mat. The ref starts a 10 count. Leveigh gets up and tags in Carter. Carter cleans house and  hits Brother Love with 2 huge headbutts. Leveigh rolls Love outta the ring . While Carter stays int he ring . Carter hits Roosevelt with a powerbomb into the turnbuckle. Carter then picks up Roosevelt and hits a running powerslam. But he only gets a 2 count. Brother Love grabs the briefcase and hits Carter with it for a DQ. And the show ends with a bunch of pictures while "Land of Confusion" plays.

This show while only being 30 minutes is a major improvement over the first episode. None of the matches seemed to be clipped. And the sound was a lot better. Can't wait to see more of the Whiskey Hangover/Capitol City Muscle best of 7 series. And what seems to be a big feud between The Bruise Brothers 2k and Anton Leveigh and Mike Carter. Plus it is always great to see Porkchop Cash.

This is the premiere episode of the MCW TV show. Airing at 6am till 7am on FOX 40 outta Jackson MS. Show starts off Kenny Marcell in the ring welcoming us to MCW. Show is held at the Jackson arena,and they run the address across the screen. Seems we are gonna get a interview with the Bruise Brothers. But first we are gonna get an interview with the Wild Childs of the City. Kenny ask them to come to the ring. "Do you think I'm Sexy" hits the speakers and 3 guys head to the ring. One of them is Monty Warbucks. Monty gets on the mic and complains that the music wasn't cut off when they hit the ring. It seems that Monty is the mouthpiece/manager and the team is made up of the 21st century Playboy Jason Rose and The Golden Boy Brian Rival. Rose looks a little like AWA era Doug Sommers. Monty cuts a good promo Calvin Rose. And how on his ride up from Louisiana ,that once he hit Mississippi he noticed all the bad smells. Jason Rose gets the mic. He talks about how all the people in TV land should be happy that 3 of the best professional athletes are standing right before you. Then Brian Rival gets the mic and ask the audience to clap for Monty. Then calls the audience idiots for clapping on command. Monty gets the mic back and keeps cutting down Calvin Rose. And mentions that a few weeks back he piledrove Calvin on the floor. And mentions how he knows that Calvin's neck is hurt. "I wanna hear it loud" is on the speakers. And Calvin Rose comes to the ring with a chair. Kenny stops Calvin from attacking the Wild Childs. And Kenny says we are gonna get a match between Calvin Rose and Monty Warbucks later on in the show. And it will be the main event. We go to a commercial break and a James Brown song leads us outta the show.

First match Brother love vs Anton Leveigh

Brother Love comes out to "Soul Man" and he has PorkChop Cash with him. Brother Love is dressed like one of the Blues Brothers and is carrying a briefcase. Porkchop has this huge white beard. Anton Leveigh comes out looking about the same as when I saw him last year. The camera cuts to the start of the match. The two guys circle each other then lock up. Anton sends Brother Love to the ropes,and on his way back Love hits a good shoulder tackle. Love gets Anton in a side headlock. But Leveigh breaks it and sends Love to the ropes again. Love hits another big shoulder tackle. They lock up again,and for a third time Leveigh sends Love to the ropes. Then Anton leapfrogs Love,then does a drop down. And finally hits a jumping spin kick. Which drops Love to the mat. Anton hits 2 arm drags and a nice looking dropkick. And Brother Love rolls outta the ring. The crowd taunts Love and he yells for them to shut there mouth. Love rocks Anton with punches then throws him to the ropes. And Porkchop trips Leveigh. Love takes advantage of this and rakes Anton's eyes across the ropes. Then hits a stiff clothesline. Love goes for the pin but Leveigh kicks out a two. Love scoop slams Anton. Criss crosses the ring then hits a legdrop and a kneedrop. Again Anton kicks out a two. So Love starts to choke Anton. The ref makes him break on the 5 count. Love starts to argue with the ref. Love then hits a good suplex on Anton. And again he goes for the pin. But Anton kicks out at two again. Love body slams Anton and goes to the corner. He climbs up to the second rope. And goes for a leg drop. But Leveigh rolls outta the way. Both men are laying on the mat and the ref starts a 10 count. They get up and trade punches. Love throws Anton into the corner and lifts him up to the second rope. Loves goes for a second rope superplex. But Anton shoves him off. Anton then does a second rope frog splash. The ref and Anton are distracted by Porkchop. And Porkchop slides the briefcase into Love. Who hits Anton with it. And finally Love gets the three count. We go to commerical while Love dances around the ring to "Soul Man". Fun match.

Match 2

Whiskey Hangover vs Capitol City Muscle

On the screen they inform us this will be video highlights. Whiskey Hangover are Ron Horn and Barry "Mr 500" Wolf. Damn I wish this was the entire match. I have seen Horn and Wolf face each other 5 times now,but have never seen them as a tag team. For some reason there is no sound . One of the CCM guys slams Wolf. Then it cuts to Horn and Wolf double teaming one of the CCM guys. And "Let the bodies hit the floor" starts playing. We get to see Whiskey Hangover beating the crap outta one of the guys from CCM. The CCM guy hits a shoulder tackle and manages to tag in his partner. Who comes in the ring and beats up both members of Whiskey Hangover. One of the CCM guys picks up Barry Wolf. While the other jumps off the top rope and hit a solid looking clothesline. And CCM gets the win. I really wish they had shown the entire match. And we get another commerical break.

We come back and Porkchop Cash and Brother Love are headed to the ring. Brother Love gets the mic. Brother Love talks about how they are the 2000 version of the Bruise Brothers. He starts cutting a promo on the son of Junkyard Dog,Mike Carter. Which causes the crowd to start booing. I didn't know that JYD had a son. Love talks about how they offered Mike a handshake and the Carter spit on Porkchop Cash's hand. Cash talks about how if Mike Carter had shook his hand he wouldn't have too beat him up. Then Cash talks about how the Bruise Brothers will take over Mississippi. Not a bad promo

Match 3

Wild Childs of the City VS Rick Morgan & Jason Mathews

Wild Childs are out first. But it seems they don't have Monty with them this time. Jason Rose grabs the mic. He ask if Jackson MS is ready for him to take his robe off and show them what the sexiest man alive looks like. Well I guess bitch tits are sexy. Morgan and Mathews come out. The crowd seems to be behind Morgan and Mathews. Morgan starts the match with Rival.Nice back and forth. Morgan tags out to Mathews. Jason hits a clothesline on Rival. But Rival gets the upper hand and tags in Rose. Mathews and Morgan do a double hip toss on Rose. But when Morgan runs at Rose,Rose pulls down the rope. Morgan goes flying to the outside. Rival goes and starts beating up Morgan. Then he finally throws Rick back into the ring. Rose tags out to Brian and the Wild Childs do a double Garvin stomp. Then Brian Rival hits 2 snap suplexs in a row. Rival then tags in Rose who does a double foot stomp on Morgan. Rose goes for the pin but Rick kicks out. Jason Rose applies a headlock. Rick throws some elbows to break the hold. Rose hits a Atomic drop followed by a swinging neck breaker. Then he tags Rival back in. Rick hits a flying elbow and tries to tag in his partner. But Rival cuts the ring off on Rick. Time for a commerical break. Well maybe not. Rose tags in and hits a rolling Samoan drop on Rick.Then Rose climbs to the top rope. goes for a leg drop but Rick rolls outta the way.Rick makes the hot tag at the same time as Rose tags in Rival. Jason Mathews hits a series of clotheslines. Both Mathews and Morgan take their guys to the corners and do the standard 10 punches. We end up with Mathews rolling up Rival . But the ref is distracted. Rose comes in and hits Mathews . Rival rolls up Mathews for the win.

Match 4

Joey Ables vs JYD's son Mike Carter. Ables is out first and is wearing a CMPunkish hoodie. Carter comes out barking to "Another one bites the dust". The crowd goes wild. Nice Carter is wearing a dog chain around his neck. They lock up and Able gets a headlock. Carter powers out but eats a shoulder tackle. Then Carter nails Able with a arm drag and a great looking dropkick. Ables rolls to the outside to recover. Mike gets a headlock. But Joey throws him to the ropes. Mike comes back and hits a hard looking shoulder tackle. Then we cut to later in the match. Able hits a belly to back suplex. And both guys are on the mat. The ref starts the 10 count and we get another cut. Carter hits a bulldog. But while both guys are on the mat,Porkchop and the Bruise Brothers come out. They hit Carter with the briefcase. And the ref ends the match. The Bruise brothers keep beating up Mike. But Anton Leveigh comes out and does his best to stop them. But he gets hit with the briefcase. And we go to commerical as Porkchop and the Bruise Brothers are beating up Mike Carter.

Match 5

Monty Warbucks vs Calvin Rose. Monty comes out to "Do you think I'm sexy" and on his way out he jaw jacks with the fans. Who boo the crap outta him. Cut and Calvin Rose is on his way out. He hits the ring and Warbucks rolls out. Rose chases Warbucks around the ring. And Warbucks caught Rose as he comes back into the ring. But Rose gets the upper hand and Warbucks rolls out again. Warbucks gets back in and gets a headlock on Calvin. Calvin throws Monty to the ropes. And Calvin hits a shoulder block,but Monty no sells it. We go to commerical as Calvin has Monty on the mat and is hitting him with punches. We come back to Calvin hitting a elbow on Monty. This gets a two count. Monty pokes Calvin in the eyes. Then he throws Calvin into the ropes. Monty hits a clothesline and starts to unwrap his wrist tape. He uses the tape to choke Calvin. But the ref catches him. Cut and Calvin throws Monty to the ropes and hits another good elbow. Monty throws a few punches but Calvin blocks them and hits a few right hands. Then the Wild Childs try to interfere. But Calvin stops them. Calvin catches Monty with a big boot to the face and gets the pin. The show ends with the Wild childs of the city in the ring all upset cause Monty Warbucks lost. And we get a nice collection of pics of the various wrestlers while Genesis's "Land of Confusion" plays.

Overall not a bad show for the first show. There was a few sound problems and sometimes the video showed some breakup. But it was a fun introduction to the MCW product.

Xtreme Outlaw Wrestling 10/30/2010 Brookhaven MS Factory Furniture Store Free show

This is the free show that was promoted at the last XOW show in Brookhaven.it was held at a local furniture store. I showed up about 1 1/2 hours early and ran into the old guy that believes that since Mid South folded wrestling has been fake. Ended up getting to talk to a few of the workers,and got them to autograph a poster from the last show. Checked the gimmick table and they had a dvd. All Pro Productions presents Wrestling at the Carthage Coliseum,Carthage MS Halloween Night 2009. It was only $5 so I picked it up. The front and back covers list,Cameron Valentine,The real deal Neil taylor,CJ Cash,JD Mckay,The Giant Hillbilly,NWA superstar Johnny Morton,Special Ed,and Nick Grymes. They were selling "autographed" pics of Stone Cold for $2. There was no chairs,unless you brought your own. So I was happy I had thrown a folding chair in the backseat of my car before I left home.

First match was Soultaker Grim VS Antino Salvadori. Antino was working a mafia gimmick and was the face. Soultaker Grim,Who it turns out owns the ring that was used,was doing a kinda heel undertaker/bikertaker gimmick. Grim riles up the crowd ,and after about 8 minutes of action hits Salvadori with a chokeslam to get the pin. The kids in front of me asked their dad if Soultaker Grim was Undertaker's and Kane's older brother.

Next up was Ron "Fat Hardy" Horn VS Faroh of Phunk. I had mentioned before the show to Horn that at the last show he reminded me of Adrian Street. He thanked me and said that he knows Adrian and how cool Adrian is. Faroh of Phunk is wearing a bandanna and a black shirt that on the back it has the naked lady from the 18 wheeler mudflaps and the word FAROH below it. Fairly quick paced match with Faroh doing lots of fast paced moves and Horn stalling and other classic southern heel tricks. After Horn has been stalling for a few minutes I yell "Hey FAT HARDY lock up already!". And the crowd starts to call him Fat Hardy. Horn ends up cheating the win, and this gets the crowd very rowdy.

Jesse Dalton VS Barry Wolf is up next. Barry Wolf is the guy that went by Dustin Wolf at the last show. Barry is also Mr 500 since he came in at 500 in this years PWI 500. Nice back and forth match that last for at least 10 minutes,before Ron Horn runs in and helps Dalton win. This causes the Faroh of Phunk to come out and challenge Dalton and Horn to a tag match later on in the show. After some heckling from a large woman in the crowd.who had about 4 teeth,Horn/Dalton finally accept. The promoter comes on the mic and tells us this will be the main event. Which is kinda weird cause the poster list Kamala VS Mitch "Snakeman" Teretta as the main event.

After the match the announcer tells up they are having a 50/50 raffle. You buy a ticket for a buck. And before the main event they will pick a winner. The winner gets half of the ticket sales money and gets to come out with one of the teams at the main event.

I look over to the door that is serving as the lockroom door,and see Snakeman coming out. He walks to the ring and then opens up his canvas bag and throws out his at least 7 foot long albino python. I am puzzled why the advertisted main event is happening as the 4th match of a promised 7 matches. Then some tribal music hits and out comes Kamala. Who looks like he is weighing in at 250 tops now. No Akbar or Kim Chee as his manager instead he has a guy,that I was told is training. Seems this guys name is Soul Train. He is a average height kinda chubby super pale white guy. The crowd kinda doesn't know how to react,since both guys are faces. Kamala refuses to get in the ring until the snake is put back in the bag. Finally they lock up,and Kamala throws Snakeman into the corner. After about 6 minutes of chops,and shoulderblocks from Kamala,Ron Horn hits the ring and causes a draw. I found this kinda weird. I figure it might be cause both guys are faces.

Time for intermission,so I walk back to the gimmick table and see they have sold out of the DVD I bought and have a new one for sale. All Pro Wrestling,Philadelphia MS Feb 20,2010. And it list a lineup of Jerry the King Lawler,Rob Horn aka Ron Horn,Neil The real deal Taylor,Anton Leveigh,Monty Warbucks,Hollywood Jimmy,Lord Humongons,and Mitch Teretta.I check the back and it has 6 matches listed. And buy it since it is $5. I go back and sit down and see that Dustin/Barry Wolf is at ringside and so I go up and talk to him. Turns out he had read my review of the last show. And then he offers to autograph my dvd,and I get a picture with him. A few minutes later the Faroh of Phunk comes out,I go to get a pic with him and he comments on how most of the audience is taller than him. Then Mitch Snakeman Teretta hits the ring. He is doing free autographs and taking pics with his snake in the ring for $5. I got get a pic taken. And he tells me he will have it printed up for me later in the show. Kamala comes out and is charging $5 for autographs. And the promoter is selling a program for $2 that has pics of most of the guys on the show,plus various other wrestlers that work in this area. I end up buying a poster of the event from a kid for $3 and after the show got a few of the guys to autograph it. I go talk to the announcer and he tells me he will give me the match listings after the show. So I spelled all the names as they were listed.

Finally intermission is over and John Thor comes out,but he sadly doesn't have his cane with him. Then "King of the Road" hits and The Giant Hillbilly comes out. The crowd goes fucking insane. Hillbilly seems to almost be more over than Kamala. They work almost the same match as the last time I saw them. But the crowd again gets really into it. Giant Hillbilly hits a giant splash in the corner and pins Thor for the 3 count.

Jay Blade is out next,and since he was one of the best workers on the last card I am excited. He is working heel again. Then the announcer tells us that The Nick Mason Experience is on his way to the ring. Nick it turns out is the skinny teenage kid I saw earlier putting the ring together. Fun cruiserweight style match.

Now it's time to see who wins the 50/50 raffle. Turns out to be some teenager. He goes and gets his half of the money. And it is time for the main event. Out first is Ron Horn and Jesse Dalton. They get heckled by the crowd and Barry Wolf and the Faroh of Phunk hit the ring. This was your classic southern style tag match. With Horn and Dalton cutting off the ring on Wolf. And cheating every time the ref is distracted. Wolf is like a modern day deep south indy Ricky Morton. His selling is getting the crowd all worked up. The woman with 3 teeth says something I can't make out,but it causes Horn to LOL for 3 or 4 minutes. Finally the Faroh gets the hot-tag. And he cleans house. Him and Wolf do a double roll-up and win the match. As soon as the match is over the crowd starts walking off. But Ron Horn gets on the mic and talks about how they just got a free wrestling show. And should at least go take a look inside the local furniture store that is sponsoring the show. Sadly most of the crowd ignores him. I go thank the promoter and the store owner for the show. And then got to talk to John Thor and Jay Blade for a few minutes. Overall it was a better show than the last one in town. And I am hoping the 2 DVDs I bought will also be just as fun.

XOW runs shows through out Mississippi and parts of Tennessee. On Wednesday I saw a poster up at the local library. In big letters it said WWE superstars. Then listed the following wrestlers. Kid Kash,Anton Levay,Giant Hillbilly,Brian Christopher,Mr Wrestling,Doink,Chief Pierre Goldstein and The Snakeman. I saw that tickets were only 10 bucks,so I decided to go. Showed up about 40 minutes till they opened the doors. Waited in line and had a old man explain to me how wrestling has been fake since Mid South/UWF folded. Finally the doors open and I go get a seat in the front row. Behind me is a stage and on the corner of it is a old ass video camera on a tripod. Saw they had a gimmick table set up,so I walked over and checked out the merch. There was a couple of WWE DVDs that you can normally find for $5 but they wanted $10. Also they had a bunch of kids WWE shirts. About 20 of the John Cena camo baseball caps. A handful of kid sized foam WWE belts. And weirdly a bunch of rubber snakes. Not seeing anything I wanted to buy I went back to my seat and found out from the guy sitting next to me that on the 30th of this month XOW will be back in Brookhaven with a free outdoor show at a local furniture store. And they guarantee that Kamala will be at the free show. To kill sometime I take a quick count of the crowd and it is about 200 or so. Kinda funny that a tiny Indy fed in a tiny MS town can draw a bigger crowd than IWA-MS has in about a year and a half.

The show starts about 5 minutes late,and a local radio DJ is the announcer. He tells us that tonight will be a tournament for the All Pro World title. The belt looks pretty nice for such a small fed. But first off we are gonna get what he refers to as an exhibition match.

Coming to the ring first is Ron Horn,who is working a prissy heel gimmick. Then next we have Dustin Wolf,who seems to be working the typical southern face gimmick. Horn stalls and does a few comedy spots before locking up. After a couple of arm drags by Wolf the guy sitting behind me calls Horn "FAT HARDY". Which gets the crowd to start up a "FAT HARDY" chant. Both guys did a great job getting the crowd worked up with lots of interaction. After about 15 minutes of decent back and forth action ,Horn wins by holding the tights of Wolf. Fat Hardy hauls ass to the back. While Dustin walks around shaking hands with all the kids. Before the next match can start the crowd notices Horn walking outta the big bay door of the civic center,and they boo him again.

First match in the All Pro World title tournament is John Thor versus The Snakeman. Thor comes out first looking like Greg Allman and Sandman mated and produced a kid. He evens has his own version of a Singapore cane,which I swear is a cane fishing pole. Thor is obviously a heel,and starts interacting with the crowd. Then The Snakeman comes out with a big canvas drawstring bag. He opens up the bag and throws a huge snake,at least 8 foot long,into the ring. All the kids and half the adults start running up to the ring. The one guy they had working security does his best to keep the audience away from the snake. Big surprise John Thor is afraid of the snake. Finally after about 6 minutes of stalling and yelling at the crowd Thor finally gets in the ring and locks up with Snakeman. Another decent 12 minute or so match. Thor gets the cane and hits Snakeman with it 3 times,and the cane splitters. The ref signals for the end of the match,and Snakeman advances when John Thor gets DQed for using the cane.

Second match in the tournament is Jay Blade versus Anton Levay. Blade is out first and has some nice looking ring gear. Anton Levay comes out next and the guy next to me talks about how Levay looks like Fez from that 70's show. They lock up and run the ropes a few times.Levay gets thrown outta the ring and lands right in front of me. Then Jay Blade climbs to the top turnbuckle and hits Levay with a flying cross body block. They brawl around the crowd and end up on the stage behind me. Blade slams Anton off the stage to the hard concrete floor. Blade goes for another cross body and misses. They get back in the ring and Anton throw about 3 very nice looking kicks. Levay climbs the ropes and hits a frog splash for the pin. This ended up being the best match on the card,and had a nice crusierweight feel too it. After the match Anton gets on the mic and cuts a promo about how he loves wrestling in Mississippi but he hates the MS athletic commission. He mentions how lots of what he said is going over most of the crowd head.

Intermission time,and The Snakeman is out for autographs and pics. 75% of the crowd goes to get a picture made with Snakeman. I bend over to get the drink I had under my seat,and when I pick my head back up I see about 10 kids in the ring. After a few minutes some lady comes out and gets the kids outta the ring. So all the kids go over the announcer's table,which has the All Pro World title belt on it. And they take turns posing with the belt. I hear the sound of a cowbell,and see the Giant Hillbilly coming outta the back and he heads to the ring. He gets one of the mics and talks about how his opponent can't make it tonight,but he wanted to come out and thank the crowd for coming to the show tonight. Hillbilly is busy talking to the crowd when John Thor hits the ring and smacks the Giant Hillbilly 2 times with his splintered cane. Hillbilly gets pissed off and hollers at the promoter that he wants a match tonight with Thor. The promoter agrees to this and sets the match ,which will happen when intermission is over.

4th match of the card , Giant Hillbilly versus John Thor. Thor comes out first and has Jay Blade with him. Giant Hillbilly is next and he gets right in the ring,but Thor stays outside the ring and heckles a rather large lady in the front row. One of the kids on the other side of the ring from me,walks up and hands the Giant Hillbilly a rubber snake. Hillbilly gets Thor to finally get into the ring,and when Thor gets near him. Hillbilly shows him the snake. Thor runs away,and Giant Hillbilly throws the toy snake at him. After what seemed like 10 minutes of heckling the crowd,Thor gets in the ring and the match starts. Giant Hillbilly works the standard big man offence.He slams Thor a few times and does a big splash in the corner. After the splash Hillbilly gets the pin. Not that good of a match,mainly cause Hillbilly is kinda limited. But the crowd was really into the match ,and the kids were chanting "HILLBILLY" through out most of the match.

Final of the All Pro World title tournament is Anton Levay vs The Snakeman. Both guys shake hands and hug to start the match. Snakeman does lots of power moves,and Levay is all crusierweightish. The crowd seemed to be evenly split between Levay and Snakeman. After about 10 minutes of mat action ,Levay hits a good frog splash and gets the win.

Turns out that a bunch of guys no-showed. I am not sure if maybe the Athletic commission had anything to do with this. Kinda sucks that 4 guys listed on the poster weren't at the show. But the show was more than worth the 10 bucks admission.
