TMNT and Me
Then a year or so later found this at the Walden's Books in the mall.
So once the cartoon started I was already into the original version of the Turtles. I watched the cartoon and while it wasn't horrible it was so different from the comic. I even bought the first year or so of the Archie Comics published TMNT comic. But what I really wanted was more of the Eastman and Laird comics. Then the first live action film came out. I took my two younger cousins. Going in not expecting to enjoy it. But I was surprised when it wasn't bad. Still a little cartoony but more like the comic I liked.
Well the toyline of course was huge for years. But I never got any. I had pretty much stopped buying toys at the time. Then in the mid 90s all the thrift stores in my area started getting in piles of the figures. So I started grabbing a bunch. Usually loose and costing me a quarter or 50 cents.
Here's some of my favorites. I don't own most of them anymore.
Panda Khan-Got him loose last year at Wesson for a buck.
I don't remember him from the comics or cartoon, So I just assume he is some kind of panda Samuari.
Mondo Gecko-Got him loose from a Thrift Store. Lost him sadly in a move a few years back.
Ace Duck-Another I never saw in the comic or cartoon. But I remember him be easy to find in thrift stores for years.
"Drill "Sergent" Leonardo-No idea what this one's real name is. But I was given him right after I finished Army BCT. And have held onto him for years now.
Genghis Frog-Had him and Napoleon Bonafrog for years. But lost both in a move. So grabbed this one a few weeks back for a buck.
Punk Rock Donatello-This is my second one of these. Got a loose one years ago at a thrift store. Then in the late 90s Big Lots and Kay Bee Toys started stocking old ass TMNT figures. So bought another to have all the accessorizes. Well lost those over the years but still have the figure.
I got into and loved the early 2000 Fox Kids TMNT cartoon. Back when Cartoon Network was showing it every day I would come home from work and watch that and Teen Titans. I loved how the FoxKids cartoon was much closer to the b/w comic. Plus the great Jack Kirby tribute episode.
As far as teh comic. I read the b/w one off and on when I could find it. But sometime in the mid 90s I stopped reading it. The Archie version I read for a little over 2 years. And it wasn't bad, even if it was based off the original cartoon. Now Nick owns the Turtles ,the new cartoon is getting rave reviews. But I still haven't seen it. Currently the only TMNT comics I have is when they teamed up with Savage Dragon. But I do want to get the trades of the early stuff.

Ok back with more pictures of junk I find laying around my room.
Let's see. Starting on the top left and going to the right.
Ramones poster that came with the dvd of the End of the Century DVD.
Picture of most Mom's side of the family. I am missing for various reasons. Above that is a flyer for American Horror Story. The B/W sketch I found in a "The Crow" TPB I bought at the library sale for $1. Up next is an autographed glossy of Gunnar Hansen and in the bottom corner of the frame is a picture of him choking me before he ripped me off. Then there is two Marvel postcards. One promoting some Venom series and some Hulk vs Avengers series. Above them is my autographed picture of Jello Biafra.
Ok dropping down a row now. That is a mini poster that came as the centerfold in most comics DC comics put out right before the film came out. I must have 15 or so of them. Then there is 6 more comic book related postcards. All of them promoting Ape Entertainment comics. The yellow ticket stub is from Powerslam Productions Spring Break show. I know a few matches from it are on Youtube. But Reggie if you are reading this please get this and December Double Shot parts 1 and 2 2012 out on DVD soon. Please!!!!! Ok moving right we got a great collage my buddy Devin made for me. I sent him a huge stack of comics and magazines with pages dogeared. He made this and sent it to me framed and I fucking love it. Above it is a 1999 WWF trading card signed by Viscera. Below the collage is Ash,from Army of Darkness,Jason and Freddy. Done by the artist RAK they are from Coast Con 2012. He was selling them 5 for 3 bucks I think. I grabbed a handuful and pretty much everyone at the con got some. To the right of the collage is two sketches done for me by Wayne Cordova. Below the sketches is the promo cards that came with some MST3K set I got last year. Then finally on the far right is the flyer for the October 2nd 2010 XOW show in Brookhaven. It is signed by 5 guys that worked the show.
This is over near my bed. Lets see... Death of Superman poster. Got a copy of Superman Vol 2 #75 a few years back and ripped the bag open. The b/w next to it is a X-o Manowar #0 variant. Then there is my Mad magazine Hopeless poster. Below that is a free New Mutants poster I got at the comic shop on the coast. The one that is covered with glare is a Madame Xanadu poster that I got with the 80s 1 show comic. Below that is Dr Strange and Hawkeye sketch cards by RAK. Then my last 4 Coast con badges. Then there is the Olivia Munn poster. I made the mistake of buying her book for $2 new. And it fucking sucks. Horrible book, but inside the dustjacket was that poster. Which is almost worth the $2. To it's right is one of the Bongo Free Comic Book Day issues. It has CBG cosplaying as all kinds of genre people. OK finally on the far right. The b/w print is George Romero. I got it from an artist at Coast con this year. I can not remember his name but it was only $3. Below it is a 2011 ,I think 2011,San Diego Comic Con Warner Bro's bag. It is heavy duty nylon and has great one on the side showing. The other side is promoting Fringe.
01.Huge ass puzzle. Got it for X-mas a few years back, never had a place to put it together. But my cousin said she would. Then she was nice enough to frame it for me. It is all kinds of actors and actresses known for their roles on TV shows.
02.Angela poster from Spawn #9. Yep ripped the poster out as soon as I saw Mile High Comics jumped the price 25 bucks in one day.
03.Ceramic skull I got for a buck at the Dollar Tree. I mostly use it to hold pushpins and buttons and stuff.
04.Mini replica of the Leg Lamp from Christmas Story. Was an X-mas present this month from my lovable crazy aunt. The leg lights up and it takes a tiny ass bulb.
05.XOW October 30th 2010 show flyer.Bought this one at the show and got two of the guys to sign it.
06.Three Garbage Pail Kids posters I got in a trade from Devin. I want to say I sent him a bunch of vhs of all kinds of stuff.

10.Married with Children posters, these came with the various MWC comics. The one of the left is from the Fanboy in Paradise 1 shot. Where Bud goes to a comic con. The next two are from the Kelly goes to College mini series.
11.My devilock. I grew it out for over 2 years. Then had to cut it in fall of 2007.
12.High Voltage Racing Champions car. Only piece of High Voltage merchandise I know of. Racing Champions seemed to only do Nascar inspired stuff. Got this is trade for some old VHS tapes.
13.Dollar General stuffed Frankenstein's Monster, this was one of Peaches old toys. She played with it for years and was one of the 3 or 4 toys she kept in my room. Hanging around it is some skull glow in the dark glow stick mask I got from Dollar Tree.
14.MST3k Fugitive Alien promo card. Came with the dvd set that other ones did.
15.MST3K Samson VS the Vampire Women promo card.
16.DR. Skull b carded Pez. Robin Bougie sent me this as a X-mas present. Still sealed and has Pineapple,Cherry and Lemon candy with it. I haven't seen Pineapple or Cherry flavored Pez in years now.

Views of the room part 001
After trying for months/years to describe how my room looks to people,I realized stupider fucker you got a camera. USE IT.
Got this great Lego Boba Fett clock for $5 a few years back. Walmart had them all on clearance. Besides the neck joint all the other points of motion work like a normal sized lego man. Shove down on the head and the clock lights up. Been saying for a year now I need to hang this from a big fake gold chain and wear it like a Geeky Flava Flav.
Someone,I don't remember who, mentioned this Powergirl figure to me last week. And I took a quick snapshot of it. On the far left is the Super Hero Squad Wasp figure. I got a shitpile of these figures. They are great looking figures. And about 4 years ago, found them on clearance for $3 a pack. I managed to get all the FF,a nice Avengers line up. The original Defenders line up of Dr Strange,Hulk,Silver Surfer and Namor. In the middle is my Powergirl figure. This was a Walmart exclusive. But my local Walmart never got this line in. Found this at the Vendor's Emporium. It was still sealed in a perfect packaging for $5. They had 10 of them I should have grabbed all ten but still it was a great deal. Amazing paint job, articulation and best of all it stands on it it's own. Next we got a Homie. I was buying these all the time when I lived in Texas. Most likely had 100 or more of them at one time. But now am down to about 20. Finally on the right is CAPTAIN AMERICA! Got this in a two pack with a brown suit Wolverine. It included a reprint of the Classic Captain America annual where Cap and Wolvie fight. Cap's sheild, which I secured to his back, even has claw marks on it. Lots of articulation on this figure. I think it was 15 bucks for the two figures with the comic. Which isn't bad I would have paid that much for the 2 figures, gettting a reprint of a great comic was just a bonus.
Found this earlier this month for a quarter. I have learned over the past 8 years that I really love the Marvel 70s "B-level" super hero books. Killraven,Man thing,Luke Cage, etc all appeal to me more than say Fantastic Four from that era. The above copy is a reader copy. You can tell it has been read many times and enjoyed. Not just sitting in a bag with a board in a longbox for decades. Plus it is full of all those great 70's comic book ads. That is one thing missing from reprints and trades/hardcovers, the great ads.
I got an addiction, I can not pass up cheap books. Take the book on the left in the above picture. I already own 2 other copies of it. One is a nice tall softcover version titled Do Androids Dream of electric Sheep. Then got a normal sized paperback version titled Blade Runner which is from the mid 80s. This one has a new cover and is from the past 4 years. But it was 50 cents at the library sale. The book on the right is some mid 80s horror novel printed by Zebra books. Too much Horror Fiction! is a neat site that informed me that most of the 80s Zebra horror novels have great artwork on the covers but the rest of the book isn't as good. But you know what fuck that it was 50 cents and the money goes back into the local library. Support that shit, they get me free comics and stuff.
As some of you might know I have a huge book, comic book, dvd collection. So instead of paying out the ass for nice shelves to store all this crap, I got my father who can built anything to build me this shelf. Besides the top two shelves each other one is custom sized for dvds. I usually rotate out the hardbacks on that top shelf a few times a year. No idea why really. On the top is 3 things of note. On the far left is a cookie jar. It is either a zombie or Frankenstein's Monster. Got this for free and loved how it looks. On the far right you can see the side of my mini three stooges lunchbox. I love metal lunchboxes and sorta collect them. This one came with 2 or 3 dvds of PB Stooges stuff. And was only $8 bucks.I got it mostly to have the stooges lunchbox. Now in the middle of the very top you can kind of see a video tape. I will talk more about that in a bit.
Ok this is the bottom half of the above shelf. It mostly holds my animation DVDs and my concerts and music related dvds. The few vhs you see on the bottom are all stuff I recorded off tv years ago that I need to either trash or transfer to dvd. Plus you can see a few random paperbacks. I own at least 500 paperback books,so they end up randomly all over my room.
This came with some edition of the "Wanted" dvd. While the film is nothing amazing I liked this image. The plain white color of the walls reminds me of barracks or hospital rooms too much. Which is a major reason I cover as much of the walls as I can with posters.
Ok this is the tape from the top of the smaller shelving unit. It is a Betamax release of the original "Phantasm". As a kid we had a Betamax machine since I was about 3 or 4. But back then buying pre-record tapes was expensive. If you look close at the back of the case you will see a price sticker from Radio Shack of $44. Found this at a small flea market out in my area back in 2008 or 2009. They wanted $1 so I had to grab it. It does work and looks like it wasn't watched much. One day I will have to rip it to dvd just for the hell of it.
Well that is all for now. I will do more stuff like this soon.

Hey everyone
I am leaving on Friday for a vacation on the coast. Won't be back to Wednesday. So no Forgotten Friday,Multipack Mondays,Indy Wrestling Tuesdays or Comix Wednesdays next week. Sorry about that. Hope everyone has a good holiday. I will be spending it with my 99 1/2 year old grandfather and my late 60s father. So it should be fun.

Wildkat Sports School's Out
June 8th 2013
J.D. Meisler Middle School Metairie Louisiana
Around 12:30pm I get a call from Collin, asking me where River road is. I let him know that I have no idea and tell him to meet us at the Dollar General out in my area. So Blake and I drive up to Dollar General, go inside and grab some drinks. We are waiting and Blake goes back inside and buys a bendie CM Punk figure. Collin shows up and he follows us back to my house.
We quickly get into his car and start the 2 1/2 hour drive down to New Orleans. Around 3pm we get to Juan's Flying Burrito and go in for lunch. I got the same thing as last thing. Which is a huge ass burrito named "The Gutterpunk". I manage to eat about 90% of it. We realize we still have almost an hour to kill, so off we go to City park to just chill for awhile. First time I had been there in over 30 years.
About 30 minutes before 6pm we arrive at the J.D. Meisler Middle School. There is already a line. And I spot some of the Heel World Order wearing sleeveless dress shirts with ties. Just like Hardbody Harper does. A little after 6pm the doors open and we all line up to get our tickets. As I am waiting in line I spot Luke Hawx, so I motion for him to come over. And hand him a DVD of Randy Savage footage from Memphis. He thanks me and heads out. We get our hands stamped and head off to the gym.
I was amazed when we entered the gym and see that it has A/C. Never seen a school gym with A/C before. So at least I won't be sweating my ass off. Blake and I head down to check out the gimmick tables. We hit up the Powerslam one first. I talk to Casey for a few minutes. Then see Brett Landry. So I walk over and hook him up with one of the Savage in Memphis DVDs. Then I go look at the t-shirts. Asked if they had the Wildkat one in XXL. And they did so I buy that. We head back to the bleachers and by this time Damien has made it. So I get them to watch my book bag while I head to the bathroom to change into my new shirt.
I get back see Reggie Matthews walking around,so I holler at him. He comes over and I give him the DVDs for him and some of the other Powerslam talent. We end up bullshitting comics for about 20 minutes then he heads out.
It is time for the show to start so Big Ramp and Brett hit the ring and get the crowd hyped up. From what I read there was over 300 people there. I had guesstimated it at 175 to 200. But it isn't like I bothered to count. After Brett and Big Ramp get the crowd hot,Al Lions is in the ring and talking about the show. When Hardbody Harper and Mr 450 Steve Anthony come to the ring. Steve talks about how he never got his rematch for the Wildkat World title and he wants it tonight. Mike Dell comes out of the locker room. And he is carrying the Wildkat World title.
Anthony points out that Dell isn't the Wildkat champ. But Dell tells him "Possession is 9/10ths of the law!" Seemed to me that Dell might be turning face soon. Al informs Anthony that he forfeited his rematch when he missed a show. Al says "If Luke Hawx was here right now....." And then Luke's music hits the speakers. Luke runs out to the ring.
Luke talks about how he will face anyone tonight. But Al tells him it will be Dell VS Hawx for the World title. And since Dell stole the title at the last show, if Dell doesn't win tonight he will be suspended for 1 match with no pay.
Everyone finally leaves the ring and it is time for the first match.
Match 01-Curt The Stud Matthews VS Bu Ku Dao and Sexy Chino
Curt comes out first to loud boos. And I notice he has grow a beard. Totally changes his look.
Then some techno/dance style music hits and Bu Ku Dao and Sexy Chino come out. And they dance their asses off.
Sexy Chino has on hot pink pants and a Bu Ku Dao or die shirt. The crowd goes nuts for him. He goes around ringside giving women lap dances.
Bu Ku dao and Chino get in the ring and pose.
Then Dao grabs the mic and lets Curt know, that since at the last show it was Curt and Chris Masters vs Bu Ku Dao , this time Bu has brought his cousin from Las Vegas.
So we get a fun comedy handicap match. Curt uses his strength advantage,
but it isn't enough to over come two men that are much faster. Bu Ku Dao and Sexy Chino win and head out of the ring to celebrate. They head over to the locker room and start dancing. And even the ref ,Skippy, starts dancing. With Skippy doing the Carlton dance. The whole time this is going on Curt is in the ring and obviously pissed off. He leaves the ring and looks like he wants to kill someone. Fun match and I love how this feud is going.
Match 02-Rudy Russo vs Wes Adams
Great mat based match. Early on Russo hurt Wes's knee
and then Russo spent the rest of the match working the knee. Lots of great submission holds.
Finally Russo gets the win by cheating. After the match Wes gets on the mic and challenges Russo to another match right then. But Russo refuses. Wes can barely walk but won't let anyone help him to the back. So he limped to the back while the crowd loudly applauded him.
Match 03-Outlaw Matt Lancie with Hardbody Harper VS Sgt Sorocco
This feud started back at the April Wildkat show.
Ended up being more of a old school southern style brawl than a wrestling match. Both guy's got DQed and end up brawling around the ring.
Security tried to break them up but it didn't work. So the locker room empties and finally they get them apart.
Turns out Sarge got his nose busted open and bleed onto the floor.
Match 4 for the Wildkat Revolution title
Haniet T with his valet Candy vs Wildkat Revolution champ Blake Wilder. Fun match that had both guys going for all kinds of moves.
Wilder hits his finisher and retains the title.
Match 5
Jack Jameson vs Ricky Starks.
Starks ends up cheating to win. Which causes Jack Jameson's tag team partner Purple Haze Davey Hendrix to come out.
Match 6
Byron Willcott vs Cassidiy O'Riley. Great match between two former WWE developmental talents.
Wilcott keeps using some kind of foreign object on O'Riley. But O'Riley manages to fight back and wins by submission.
Match 7 Main Event for the Wildkat World Title
One Man Mike Dell vs Wildkat World Champ Luke Hawx.
Fucking amazing match.
Dell challenges Luke to do some collegiate style wrestling.
Which both guys did great. Plus there was some amazing looking suplex. Luke did his moonsault from the second rope on the outside to the inside. Plus a brutal looking spinning sitout powerbomb. Then Steve Anthony and Hardbody Harper come out. But Luke still wins and retains the title. He grabs the mic and informs the crowd that the next show in August will have Hawx vs Matt Hardy.
It was a really fun show. After it was over Damien invited us to goto a bar in downtown NOLA. We went there and and just bullshitted for about an hour. Then go to head home. But every entrance ramp onto highway 610 was blocked off. So we ended up having to get on I-10 east take that to Slidell. Then get off and get onto I-12 west. And take it to I-55 north. So instead of it taking 2 1/2 hours to get home it took almost 3 1/2 hours. Finally got home right before 4am and crashed out.
But just like last Wildkat show this was a great evening of wrestling action. Thank you to all the Wildkat talent for the fun show.
